Action-packed and exhilarating, Fail Factory! by Fireproof Games is a must-play for anyone who owns an Oculus Quest. While short, the game will provide plenty of laughs and challenge you to think on your feet as you sabotage and dodge your way through countless experiments gone wrong. From start to finish, Fail Factory! has the player’s adrenaline pumping as they race to the finish line with the clock ticking.
Fail Factory! has you playing as a new recruit at a factory owned by Mr Big that functions on, well…failure. Every experiment you come across is an abject and utter failure and it is up to you to fix them and maintain safety standards so Mr Bigcan continues to make money. While the story may be paper-thin, it’s not something you play a game like this for.
The fun starts immediately as your first objective is to launch all the malfunctioning robots into space by completing various puzzle challenges throughout each stage of the factory. It is simple but effective, providing just enough time before the robot explodes in order to get out of dodge. However, in order to complete the game 100%, you will need to return and complete every puzzle again in order to ensure each robot makes it off the factory grounds alive.
The controls are perfectly fine for the most part, with only a few exceptions that were frustrating when I found myself accidentally placing an explosive on the wrong switch or dropping a sign on the conveyor belt that I did not mean to. These mistakes are offset though by just how fun it is playing Fail Factory! The puzzles can get fairly difficult, forcing you to think outside of the box in order to see all options available to you.
If there was one thing I could change about this game it would be more variety in the experiments. While some levels were full of creativity and experimentation (the level where you must separate pigs from sheep comes to mind), others seemed much less interesting than they could have been, making them feel slightly repetitive when compared to other stages in Fail Factory!.
Fail Factory! is well worth its asking price and should provide hours of gameplay if attempting 100% completion. Between the fun puzzles and hilarious writing, you will have a great time with this one!
