Epic Roller Coaster Review

The Epic Roller Coaster is a game for the Oculus Quest. You play as an average person, dressed in regular clothing (you look like every other person), riding on a roller coaster. There are cartoony models of people around you that also obviously don’t move at all. For some reason, cartoony children are floating along with you almost everywhere you go (seriously, they’re just there).

You ride along on the roller coaster. It starts out tame enough, but it soon gets pretty intense. There are lots of ups and downs, sharp turns left and right, loops that spin around your head until you feel like the world is spinning around you too.

The track is made up of large, bold grey bricks. The cartoony people are also grey and blocky, but less so than the track (they look like clay models).

The train runs along quickly and smoothly. It’s not bumpy or janky at all; it’s smooth and feels exactly like you’re really riding a roller coaster. There’s no lag, the visuals are clear, and there’s no motion blur

It gets more intense as you go along. The cartoony kids that are just chilling out now start getting excited, yelling “Woooooo!” or “Yeeaaah!!” with each twist and turn. You can see their mouths move when they yell, and it looks pretty good.

They even stick their arms in the air when you’re going up hills. It’s quite amusing to see a cartoony kid with his arm raised as though he’s cheering on a football team. You feel like you’re really there.

There are only three tracks available: a baby roller coaster, a normal roller coaster, and an epic roller coaster. The baby one is slow, but it’s relaxing. The other two are much faster (and much more fun).

There isn’t much else to say about this game except for the fact that you’re on a roller coaster. It’s pretty straightforward, so there aren’t many ways to describe it.

It’s fun for a few minutes at a time, but the novelty wears off pretty quickly. There’s nothing to unlock or find, so once you’ve ridden three roller coasters there isn’t much left to do except uninstalling the game.

I give this game 1.5 out of 5 stars because it didn’t have enough substance to keep me entertained for long.

The Epic Roller Coaster is a fun experience. It’s not the most complex or challenging, but it is exciting for short periods of time. The cartoony people are funny and you feel like you’re actually on the ride with them. If this sounds appealing, download it now–it’s free in the Oculus Store!
